I'm a total blogging failure

Wow, I can't believe how time flies...and what a blogging failure I am! I haven't posted since Halloween. That's pathetic.

A lot of things have happened... I was offered a job at Health Quest Physicians Group in Jefferson City. This is the practice where I did an Extended Preceptorship (chiropractic version of a residency) after graduation. Of course, I was thrilled and jumped on the opportunity! HQPG is a large, busy practice right in the middle of town. There are 3 other doctors, a Physical Therapist, a PT Assistant, a Massage Therapist and 3 CA's, and we're hopping all the time! These are the other docs I work with:

In case you don't recognize me, I'm the one on the left :) Next to me is Dr. Roger Owens; he owns the practice and hired me. I've learned a lot about adjusting and the real-life side of chiropractic from him. Then there's Dr. Roger Dixon and Dr. Tang. Yep, I'm the only female, which seems to be an advantage so far.
This is the front door of the practice. This is where I come every day...
Right now, I'm seeing a lot of kids with autism, which is exactly my goal. I'll be attending the Defeat Autism Now! (DAN!) Physician Training next month. This is so exciting for me because my whole goal of going to Chiropractic college was to become a DAN! doctor. We're set up to do all the lab work associated with the biomedical treatment of autism, including blood work, stool samples and saliva testing. I love it; it's surreal!
I've also started a new part of the practice, specializing in Natural Hormone Balancing. I do saliva and bloodspot testing to help, especially women, with issues surrounding menopause, difficult menstruation and thyroid problems.

As for the rest of life... the kids have settled in really well. Libby has gotten all A's on her report cards, and is reading as well as many adults. Roan isn't graded on the A-F scale yet, but he's doing just great, too. They have lots of friends and enjoy school. Libby is still in piano lessons. We take from Deborah McAlexander who lives just down the street. She has brought Libby a long way! She is able to sight-read extremely well and is making progress with rhythm. Roan tried drum lessons for a while, but we didn't have a good fit with the instructor. We'll try that again in a few months. For now, he's starting Tae Kwan Do. He did so well at his initial private lesson that his instructor decided to put him in the group with the older kids. He's thrilled. Tonight is his first official lesson. He told me the other night "Mom, I think I was born for this!"
So, life in Jeff City is idyllic. We're busy, but happy! Now, in my idyllic world, I promise to start blogging regularly again!
